Think the above picture is of toothpaste? Think again. It’s mechanically separated chicken, the stuff that fast-food chains use to make anything from chicken nuggets to chicken patties.
The whole process of how the chicken got into this state is an even more interesting process:
“Because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color.”
